Peppermint is a widely-loved herb for its refreshing taste, but did you know that it is also effective in alleviating bloating, indigestion and flatulence? The oils in the peppermint leaf relax the muscles in the digestive system and avoid gut spasms. The muscle-relaxing properties of menthol, found in peppermint oil, also help to increase blood flow and relax muscles, ease pain and relieve tension headaches.

Add some chopped leaves to salads or as a garnish on savory dishes or desserts.  Or, simply add a few leaves to a pitcher of cold purified water with a few slices of lemon for a thirst-quenching summer drink.
