Thiamin
Thiamin (also written as thiamine) is a water-soluble B vitamin, known as B1. Its main function is to transport and convert food into energy for your cells. Thiamin can be consumed through foods such as meat, fish, nuts, seeds certain green vegetables and whole grains, or taken in the form of a supplement. Our Vision Rx20 contains thiamin to help with vision issues such as cataracts and glaucoma.
While Thiamin is helpful for eye-related issues, it is also necessary to keep skin, hair and the liver healthy. It boosts the body’s immune system, helps with digestion and keeps the nervous system, heart and brain functioning optimally. Most adults can obtain their recommended daily dosage of thiamin from the food they eat or through supplements, but certain conditions such as ulcerative colitis, diabetes or heart disease can block the absorption of this essential vitamin.
