We would like to welcome Shannon Clark, as the newest member of our panel of health expert.
Looking for health boosting advice? Want to know the latest exercise to help boost heart health? Trying to shed a few pounds and struggling? Shannon Clark is your go-to-girl. She holds a degree in Exercise Science from the University of Alberta, where she specialized in Sports Performance and Psychology. In addition to her degree, she is an AFLCA certified personal trainer and has been working in the field for over 12 years now, and has helped others of all ages lose weight, build muscle, and improve their physical performance. It doesn’t matter where you’re starting from, she’s only interested in helping you get to where you want to go.
Now she focuses most of her time in the online world, writing articles, books, and reports to enable others to achieve their goals and dreams.
What does she do in her downtime? As a new mom, much of her time is spent changing diapers and feeding her little one, but when not doing that, she can be seen trying new recipes, reading the latest studies on exercise and nutrition, or relaxing in a bubble bath with a good book. She’s a regular gym nut as well, lifting weights and doing cardio 4-5 times per week. “If it’s important to you, you’ll find a way to make time,” she says of fitting fitness in. One of the biggest things she feels you must remember is that health and fitness is a journey, not a short-term item on your to-do list. Be in it for the long game and find an approach that you can live with. If you are counting down the days until your diet is over or until your cholesterol has reached your target goal, you’re going about it all wrong. You need to love what you do – nutrition and exercise included.
There are so many ways to go about getting fit and healthy – find a way that you can stick with! She lives and preaches this motto every day.
